Frequently asked questions

Branding

What paper do you use for printing?

A wide range of papers are available for your stationery. The standard papers I use are 400gsm silk for business cards, 150gsm for compliment slips, 300gsm for postcards and 150gsm for flyers.

If you want to know more about different types of paper and the costs, we can talk through all of the options.

How many colours can I have?

You can have as many colours as you like, however I tend to recommend a maximum of 6, to ensure your brand doesn’t get overwhelmed.

Your brand colours, usually include 1 darker tone, 1 medium tone, 1 lighter tone and 1 font colour as a minimum.

What fonts can I have?

You can have whatever font you would like. If you have any in mind, let me know in the initial chat, so I can make sure it’s on your mood board design.

I usually choose from Google Fonts, as they are free for commercial use, so there’s no extra cost for you.

However, if you are looking for something a little different I can advise on licensing costs.

Do you take payment in instalments?

Yes I do. Payment is taken in three stages: 10% is required when you book me for your branding, 40% is taken on completion of the mood boards and final 50% is taken after I produce your final brand guidelines and stationery designs.

How long does it take?

From initial conversations to completion is around 3 weeks. This includes a 2 days response time from you. If this over runs, it may delay completion. The timelines and date will be outlined in our agreement so we can arrange these for when you’re available.

Can't I create my own website on Wix?

Creating a website that represents you and what you do as a business can be difficult by yourself. There are lots of systems out there currently that help you to do this alone, such as Wix or GoDaddy, but they are never quite what you had in mind. Often the cost of running them is quite high and the customer service and support isn’t always there when you need it.

What are the ongoing costs?

What I provide is a really affordable solution. The monthly running cost for a website starts off around £3.59 a month. That’s it. £3.59. No extra charges for emails or 24/7 support from the hosting company, that’s all included for you.

Can I manage my own content?

Yes! A key part of what I do is provide you with a website that you can manage yourself so that your business can really grow. All the websites I produce are built on WordPress, one of the best content management systems out there.

Will it work on mobile?

All the websites I build are responsive, so they can be used and viewed on any device by your customers to ensure they get the best experience possible when they come to your website.

How long does it take?

For standard websites, from initial conversations to completion is around 6 weeks. For e-commerce websites, from initial conversations to completion is around 8 weeks.

This include 5 days response time from you. If this over runs, it may delay completion. The timeline and dates will be outlined in our agreement so we can arrange these for when you’re available.

Will you train me?

I spend a couple of hours training you on the key parts of your website so you can keep it running and update it whenever you need. I also have a few handy guides I can give you, to help this process along.

What if I have more than 15 pages?

That’s absolutely fine. £750 is the base price for the website and extra pages are £25 each. Included in your 15 pages will also be templates for any items you might need lots of, like blogs, so don’t worry about paying for each of them.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes I do. Payment is taken in three stages. 10% is required when you book me for your project. 40% is taken on completion of the site map and final 50% is taken after the final phase of the build.

You can have as many product types as you like. We can talk through your full e-commerce needs before we start to make sure everything is covered and created.

Who is the payment provider?

The standard payment provider set-up is Paypal, however if you have another payment provider such as Stripe or Sage Pay, these can be integrated.

What systems do you use?

I use WooCommerce running on a WordPress CMS. There are quite a few reasons for this, but the main one is ease of use and the flexibility to create whatever you need, which isn’t always possible on other systems, without a high cost.
